Bob NunnCEO

Bob Nunn joined PsiKick in June 2017 as CEO with overall leadership responsibility for the company’s growth and development.  Bob brings over 30 years of general management and go-to-market experience to PsiKick, as well as a track record of creating shareholder value with exits that include an IPO and numerous acquisitions.  Most recently, Bob was at Intel Capital, joining Intel through the acquisition of Fulcrum Microsystems where he served as President & CEO for 10 years.  During his tenure at Fulcrum, Bob successfully led the company from its early development stage to become a high-growth technology leader of Ethernet interconnect solutions.  Prior to Fulcrum, Bob held a variety of engineering, marketing and general management positions with Monolithic Memories, AMD, and Vitesse.  He has also served as a Director and Advisor to numerous start-up companies and venture capital funds including Nurlogic Design (acquired by ARM), E2O Communications (acquired by JDSU), Aumnia, Information Technology Ventures and Infinity Capital.  In the non-profit sector, Bob is currently a Board Member of the American Red Cross and Board Advisor to the Conejo Schools Foundation.  Bob is a graduate of UCLA’s School of Engineering and Harvard Business School.

Dr. Benton CalhounCo-CTO

Ben Calhoun is a co-CTO and co-founder at PsiKick, where he is responsible for technology direction and development.  Dr. Calhoun is a renowned expert and frequent speaker on the topic of ultra-low-power systems-on-chip (SoCs) and Sub-Threshold circuit design.  He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and 2 books: Design Principles for Digital CMOS Integrated Circuit Design, NTS Press 2012, and Sub-Threshold Design for Ultra Low-Power Systems, Springer 2006.  His specialization in ultra lower power circuit design has led to pioneering work on wearable body sensors, including the first demonstration of an integrated SoC for body sensor networks (BSNs) that is completely self powered, running from energy harvested from body heat.  Dr. Calhoun is also a Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Virginia.  Dr. Calhoun received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, where he and Dr. Wentzloff first began their collaboration.

Dr. David WentzloffCo-CTO

David Wentzloff is a co-CTO and co-founder at PsiKick, where he is responsible for design, tape-outs, and implementation of PsiKick’s technology.  Dr. Wentzloff is an expert in low-power wireless and RF circuit design.  His research interests include ultra-low power RFICs for energy- and volume-constrained applications, clock generation, and IC techniques to improve synchronization of sensor networks, wireless body area networks, channel modeling, and all-digital phase-locked loops for precision frequency generation.  He received a B.S.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, where he and Dr. Calhoun first began their collaboration.  Since August 2007, he has been on the faculty at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Paul MacMillanVice President of Operations

Paul MacMillan is the Vice President of Operations at PsiKick, where he is responsible for all manufacturing, supply chain management, quality, reliability, product and test engineering functions.  Prior to joining PsiKick, Paul was Director of Engineering in Qualcomm’s PMIC group, having joined the Qualcomm team through the acquisition of Summit Microelectronics in 2012.  At Summit, Paul served as Vice President of Operations and Quality from 2005 to 2012.  Previously, from 1997-2005, he held engineering and engineering management positions in Test and Product Development at Microchip Technology’s Analog Division, formerly TelCom Semiconductor.  Paul began his career in product manufacturing at Motorola’s, East Kilbride, Scotland wafer fabrication plant.  He graduated with honors from the University of Paisley, Scotland in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Shadi HawawiniSenior Director, Product Marketing & Applications Engineering

Shadi Hawawini is the Senior Director of Product Marketing and Applications Engineering, where he is responsible for customer applications, system integration, and product definition.  Prior to PsiKick, Shadi was with Qualcomm where he was responsible for the battery management and Quick Charge product line for mobile phone applications in Qualcomm’s PMIC group.  Before Qualcomm, Shadi was with Summit Microelectronics, where he helped create and define the battery management product line, and ran the FAE group before being acquired by Qualcomm.  Shadi has over 10 issued and pending patents related to power converters and battery management.  Shadi holds an MSEE from Santa Clara University and a BSEE from San Jose State University. When not thinking about novel new applications that can be enabled by PsiKick, Shadi enjoys playing soccer while attempting to continue playing “at a high level.”
